Rooms in Dark Destiny
← Back to Areas
- A Bedroom - Heavy Antique furniture fills the entire room. The double windows on the north wall are standing open and if you step closer you could see the waves pounding the rocks far below.
- A Cavern - You have stumbled into a vast cavern which is dimly lit by a few sparsely placed torches. The sound of your footsteps ring softly against the stone floor and your eyes strain to make out odd shaped boxes placed in the center of the room.
- A Crumbling Tomb - The Marble wall of the tomb has long since been broken down to reveal the crumbling coffin within. The air here is dry and stuffy.
- A Dark Staircase - The Stairs wind off into the darkness. If you stretch your hand out and touch the walls you would feel old moth eaten tapestries and if your eyes were able to view the scenes they depict maybe you wouldn't be touching them.
- A Lonely Grave - Before you is one solitary grave, The weeds poke their heads through the deep snow. The setting is lonely and desolate and in the distance you can hear the howling of a wolf.
- A Patch of Ground - This spot of ground is being prepared for a burial. Not much to see really.. Except the Small shack that is to your east.
- A Small Room - This looks more like a cell than a room. Bars are on all the windows and a small lonely cots stands against the east wall. A tiny writing desk has been pushed under one window, maybe to catch what little light comes in through the dirty panes of glass.
- A Stone Staircase - The walls have turned to dirt and the steps beneath your feet are now stone. The air hangs damp and heavy around you, chilling you to the bone.
- A Storage Closet - The room is empty save for the items you would expect to find in a storage closet.
- A Tiny Passage - There is one solitary torch stuck in the wall...it's flame cast few shadows on the small passageway.
- A Tiny Trail - You have found a small trail that seems to lead off in the direction of the forest. The path seems to have been rarely traveled. Yet it is clear of debris. The stillness of the air seems strangely ominious.
- A Tomb - On the top of the tomb, seemingly driven through the solid marble--for the structure was composed of a few vast blocks of stone--was a great iron spike or stake. On going to the back you see, graven in great Russian letters: "The dead travel fast. "
- A Tomb - Before you is yet another Tomb... Slightly smaller than the one to the east. There is a statue of a small Cherub standing watch over it.
- A Tunnel - You find yourself standing in water that has risen over your ankles. There is a faint splash as a large rat dives into the murky water ahead of you.
- A Winding Staircase - The staircase was at one time very beautiful, now it, like the rest of the town has gone years without repair. It's cracked and dull, stained red and black in some places... Red from wine perhaps but.. Where did the black come from? Ghostly moans drift by your ears from above.
- Back in the Moat - You head seems to clear and you realize you were only asleep. Before you lays the gates of a great castle.
- Banat Street - Though you have entered through the gates of the city you still see very few signs of life, and those you do see seem old... Worn down. The windows are all tightly shuttered.. Perhaps to keep out the cold at night, perhaps something more? The odor of garlic wafts by your nose. Must be a local spice.
- Banat Street - This is the end of south Banat street, to the north lies Tsepesh Square. To the east you can make out a large two story building, the sign on the door proclaims it to be The Inn of Sighisoara. All the windows are shuttered and the ones that aren't have been hastily boarded up. Torchlight flickers through the cracks in the wood, casting ghostly shadow down the street. To the east you see a small black building, with no clearly visible sign.
- Before Collinwood - Your journey has only just begun. To a strange and dark place at the edge of the sea high atop Widow's Hill -- a house called Collinwood. People who tonight are only shadows in your mind will fill your tomorrows.
- Before the Fork in the Road - Just ahead you can see the fork in the small dirt trail.. It splits to the east and west. An old broken down sign sits in the center of the fork, perhaps giving directions? The vine on the ground here is dead and brown... Wonder what happened to it.
- Before the Graves - For only a moment the light breaks through clouds showing you that you are in a graveyard and that the square objects before you are massive tombs of marble.
- Behind The Shelves - The shelves swung open to reveal a tiny staircase which leads who knows where. Cobwebs cling to your clothes and hair and in the darkness you cannot see if their makers still call them home.
- Borgo Manor - This is the home of the Mayor of Sighisoara. It like the rest of the town is in a state of disrepair. Unlike the other homes there isn't a cross or a wreath of garlic hanging on the door. How Strange.
- Church Street - To your north you see a small church. It is one of the few buildings that seems to have been maintained in this town. Even the cobblestones on the road seem to be in better shape.
- Deeper into the Alley - You seem to have reached a dead end, why you ventured farther into the alley I do not know, and apparently neither do you. Large wooden boxes are stacked haphazardly here rotting away in the damp air. They're about 3 feet by 7 feet. Wonder what the locals import?
- Deeper into the Forest - The path has taken you deeper into the forest but you think you can hear the sound of the ocean angrily beating the shore quite near.
- Deeper under the Castle - The water is getting deeper and deeper...you are now almost up to your waist and it's rising every minute. The worst of it is that you could swear you felt something bump your leg.
- Floating in the Darkness - The gentle motion of the waves has lulled you almost into a sense of wellbeing. You could drift here forever.
- Grenouille Street - As you proceed down the easter part of Grenouille Street you finally see some signs of life outdoors. A few people scurry past you, and an old street vendor stands hunched over his cart.
- In the center of the Whirlpool - You have been swept into the center of the whirlpool. Better take a deep breath.
- In the current - Your boat seems to have picked up speed... frightenly so. Your state of confusion increases and you have no idea how to make it back to shore.
- Inside the Shack - The tiny room smells of dirt. There are various tools leaning against the walls and even a few empty bottles strewn about. I guess you know what the Grave Digger does in his spare time.
- Inside the Wardrobe - It reeks of moth balls and old perfume... And maybe something else... Something that shouldn't be in a wardrobe.
- Into the Fog - Your boat slows....and almost stops. The fog is getting thicker and thicker.
- Lost in the Fog - The fog has closed thickly about you. You can see nothing not even your own feet. The lapping of the water against your boat sounds unusually loud. You fear you are very lost.
- Madame Camilla's Fortunes - The front porch of Madame Camilla's looks none too safe. The wood has rotted from years without maintenance, and exposure to the moist weather that appears to be the norm around here. Through several places where the wood has given way you catch the faintest glimmer of light from below, and then it is gone. Best watch your step.
- Northern Gates - You are before the northern gates of the town. You can see a graveyard in the distance and a tower of some sort to the northwest.
- On a Path Outside Sighisoara - The dirt path outside the village is even narrower here, overgrown with all sorts of plantlife. Some strange sort of vine clings to your boots as you pass threatening to send you sprawling. The air is still here, stale even. The willows make no sound, and the air sends chills deep into your bones.
- On the Edge of Death - You are swirling in what seems to be a huge whirlpool. It's drawing you into it's center you fear your death is close at hand.
- On the Moat - What was before a seemingly harmless moat has changed.. shifted around you as the fog obscured your view of the shore. Now you can't be sure which direction you came from... you can see no sign of the castle or even of the path you took to get here. Just miles and miles of endless black water.
- Out of the Fog - The fog seems to have lifted slighty... or maybe you were just dreaming. You think you can make out the shape of a large building to the north.
- Outside the Gates - You stand just outside the north gate of Sighisoara on a small beaten down dirt road. Several reedy willow trees loom above you as the wind whistles through the boughs high overhead. To the north you can just barely make out a fork in the road.
- Safely Across - You have safely reached the other side of the rift. Before you lays a great moat... It's dark cold waters promise dreams of yet unseen monsters. On the other side you can make out a Castle of enormous dimensions. It shows no sign of life nor light.
- Spinning and Spinning - The current has taken complete control now, and you find yourself spinning madly....round and round and round.
- Spinning into the Deep - You fear the end is very near... your boat is almost half full of water and no dry ground is in sight...
- Stairs to Nowhere - You continue to descend the ancient granite stairway fighting down the feeling of menace the radiates from even the walls around you. The cold has finally stopped inscreasing and simply remains at a dull sort of mind numbing sensation. If you feel it wise you can continue on downward.
- The Attic - What a strange empty room this is? You see nothing around you but box's of old ghost things. You can go back to hallway by falling down.
- The Bat Cave - You have entered a huge dark cave. The shadows from you torch flicker and dance around the room. You have no doubts that the noise coming from above you is something you'd rather not see.
- The Blood Stained Altar - There is a large stone altar in the center of this room. Its surface is stained with what appears to be blood.
- The Bottom of the Stairs - You have reached the bottom of the staircase and find yourself in a very narrow passageway. It's illuminated by one solitary torch that casts odd shadows on the stone walls. You can hear the sound of your own heart pounding in your ears and the feeling of dread is almost sufficating.
- The Catacomb Entrance - Before you are what was once the old Crypts of the Castle. They seem endless and the 2 demon guards standing in the archway don't seem to want you to enter.
- The Dark Stairs to Nowhere - You continue to descend the ancient granite stairway fighting down the feeling of menace the radiates from even the walls around you. The cold has finally stopped inscreasing and simply remains at a dull sort of mind numbing sensation. If you feel it wise you can continue on downward.
- The Destroyed Grave - What a horrid sight, some people have no respect for the dead. Obviously a grave robber has been here, dirt is piled everywhere and the grave is quite empty.
- The Entry Hall - The Door creaks open just far enough for you to enter... Then SLAMS shut behind you Doors, doors, doors every-where, and all locked and bolted. In no place save from the windows in the castle walls is there an available exit. The castle is a veritable prison, and YOU are the prisoner!
- The Entry Hall - The strong smell of incense coming from the east almost covers the constant odor of garlic that fills the rest of the town. This room is quite bare except for a few rickety wooden chairs, and some long unused shelves. There is a doorway to the east, with a beaded curtain hanging down to cover it.
- The Fork in the Trail - To the east you can make out what seems to be a trail into a heavily wooded valley, while to the west you see the trail continues on the the graveyard. Strangely enough the trail to the west shows no signs whatsoever of frequent use... Perhaps the locals tend to live longer then most.. Or perhaps they have simply run out of space in that graveyard and decided to build another.
- The Gates - The huge gates tower above you. The night is so still you swear you can hear the beating of your own heart. Perched on either side of the gate is a massive stone gargoyle, who's size in itself is enough to make you look closely.
- The Grave Diggers Shack - You are in front a small gray building. It seems to be tightly locked. There is a heavy chain and a padlock around it.
- The Graveyard - Now and again, through the black mass of drifting clouds, comes a straggling ray of light which lit up the expanse and shows you that you are at the edge of a dense mass of cypress and yew trees.
- The Great House of Collinwood - The moon shines down on the silhouette of a mansion - Collinwood -looming out of the darkness. Its many windows seem to leer mockingly at you. A wolf howls nearby startling you from your observations. It would be wise to go indoors. Or would it?
- The Kitchen - A huge gleaming kitchen, with all mod-cons fifties style. Don't you just feel like baking a cake or something? The fridge in the corner probably contains all sorts of delicious comestibles.
- The Library - You stand just inside the great library of the castle. A few padded wooden chairs are scattered throughout the room, but the layer of dust the covers everything speaks of very little use. The high vaulted ceiling is lined from top to bottom with shelves upon shelves of books, of all genre and description.
- The Moat - You stand just above the seemingly calm waters of the castle's moat. It's black waters reflect an image of yourself, somewhat distorted, twisted. Occasionally you think you can make out some dark mass moving beneath the waters but before you can be sure it is gone. Once or twice you observe bubbles floating to the top of the water and bursting free of the surface.
- The North Wing - Your breath lingers in the cold air and sends shivers down your spine. It's not normal for a house to be so cold. The heavy carpet beneath your feet cushions the sound of your footsteps. This Wing of the Castle seems to be in a better state of repair.
- The Parlour - The smell of incense here covers that god awful garlic smell entirely. The room is lit by one lonely candle on a shelf resting on the east wall. A small round table sits in the center of the room with a crystal ball resting in what looks to be a hawk's talons except that they are made entirely of silver. A large black cat rests lazily on the back of the chair where Madame Camilla sits, and motions you to be seated.
- The Precarious Bridge - The footbridge over the rift sways dangerously in the strong winds. Many boards have fallen into the river far below. Hold tightly to the rope least you too fall to your death.
- The Road to Lycanth - The road seems rarely traveled if at all. Fallen trees make your journey down this path extremely difficult. Above you ominious clouds fortell the coming of a storm. Perhaps you should seek shelter?
- The Second Floor Landing - The hallway is barely lit.. Though it's light source is not clearly visible. The carpet beneath your feet is old and oddly stained and all the doors before you are tightly closed.
- The Staircase - You can barely make out your own hand in the darkness as you feel your way up the stairs. Now and then you encounter a sticky substance guess the maids don't get up here very often.
- The gates of The Village Sighisoara - The path that brought you to these gates seems strangely untraveled and the wooden gates before you are closed. There is no sound to be heard from the town or the woods behind you. A sign half hidden by vines hangs on the village wall.
- The unstable Sea - The winds have picked up and lash fearfully at your small craft. You fear for you life if land is not found soon.
- Timon's Bedroom - The Second Floor Landing You stand at the top of the stairs in the second floor landing. It's quite large.. And rather bare. A few chairs are draped in sheets that seem to move and shift in the candle light. Doors lead in every direction... And the ghostly moans echo in your mind...
- Tirgoviste Lane - You have reached the end of Tirgoviste Lane, before you stands an old worn down house. The windows have been painted black, some with large human handprints painted in some ungodly shade of red, looks like dried blood. There is a sign tacked on the door, also written in that same shade of red.
- Tsepesh Square - You stand in the center of Tsepesh Square. It appears to have at one time been the heart of this town... No longer. A worn down statue stands before you with a tarnished brass plaque set into it. Behind that you can see a broken fountain, no longer pulsing with life, it now rests as stagnet as the rest of this village.
- Twin Tombs - It is rumored that once twins were born to the castle.. which should have been a joyous occasion.. that however was not the case.. they say they died at birth. This must be their final resting place.
- View of the Castle - You see a castle perched on the very edge of a terrific precipice. A stone falling from the window would fall a thousand feet without touching anything! As far as the eye can reach is a sea of green tree tops, with occasionally a deep rift where there is a chasm. Here and there are silver threads where the rivers wind in deep gorges through the forests.
- West Grenouille Street - The Street comes to an end before a large Brick House. The cobblestones have been worn smooth in front of it, perhaps from the large wagons that you can barely see parked to the side of the Manor. Like the rest of the town it too is closed tightly whether to keep something in or out you have yet to decide.
- West Tirgoviste Lane - You have reached the western end of Tirgoviste Lane. The walls of the city are being broken down by hundreds of feet of vines, years of harsh weather, and no matenance. To the north is a small, very a dark alley. An icy wind blows from that direction.
- a fork in the tunnel - The Dark tunnel forks here...one way leads deeper into the cold murky water....the other way... well who knows where it leads.
